Position Summary

JSJ Corporation is looking for a Human Resource Manager reporting directly to the JSJ Director of HR.  This position is responsible for all aspects of human resources; including performance and compensation management, employment, succession planning, organizational development, employee relations and other employee services.  This position will partner with Human Resources and business leaders throughout the portfolio to drive talent management and leadership development strategies, tools and processes in various HR and Talent disciplines. The incumbent will also be responsible for human resource planning to provide the company with the best people talent available and to position the company as the Employer of Choice.  

This position is directly responsible to provide for all facets of the human resource department for the JSJ Corporate Office as well as providing direction to select human resources professionals within the JSJ portfolio of businesses.  


Your duties will include: 

  • Partners with business leaders to effectively acquire professional, management and leadership level talent and leads detailed onboarding plans and implementation.
  • Consults with leaders on talent management and organizational design challenges.  Anticipates    challenges and recommends innovative organizational solutions for complex problems.
  • Support the Organizational Talent Assessment and Global Talent Review processes for portfolio of businesses.  Lead functional talent review sessions and ensure goal setting, countermeasures, and staffing actions are deployed and managed for Senior Leadership across the portfolio.
  • Promotes innovative solutions and implements best Human Resource Practices across JSJ and manage continuous improvement process across HR departments.
  • Provides counsel and guidance to all HR employees in the portfolio including dotted line relationships with the businesses HR functions.
  • Drives and manages performance management processes; coaching leaders and creating performance and development plans, and ensuring leaders are following through on the performance process.
  • Maintain leadership and technical competency models that facilitate the assessment of employees versus these competencies and serve a consult to leaders in drafting development plans.
  • Form collaborative relationships with Human Resources leaders and Business Leaders in order to execute talent strategies and efforts to support business growth.
  • Research latest HR trends and keep abreast to serve as a subject matter expert and consult to the organization regarding critical people issues.
  • In conjunction with the Director of HR, plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.
  • Develops and monitors key metrics for the portfolio Human Resources function consistent with JSJ guidelines and practices.
  • Support business HR in translating the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the Company.
  • Delivers change management support and consultation to portfolio business leaders.
  • Develop programs to allow the Company to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of all employees.
  • Provide support and advice on training, engagement and retention of employees.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the Company. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Company
  • Provide technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resources discipline.
  • Support other areas such as relocation, employee communication, employee safety and health, environmental issues and community relations.
  • Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization.
  • Support compliance and other legal issues including investigations regarding HR related issues that periodically arise in the


You'll have proficiency in the following:

  • Experience in multiple site leadership or portfolio HR management a plus. 
  • Demonstrated experience in attracting and developing HR leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in training, development, and organizational effectiveness
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and independently manage multiple initiatives from concept to finish.
  • Strong interpersonal / collaboration skills; ability to interface with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid business acumen to develop effective HR solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interface with HR technology.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Educational and Technical requirements preferred: 

Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field and 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing business.  PHR or SPHR preferred. Successful candidate must be able to provide limited travel including overnight stays
