JOB LOCATION: Grand Haven, MI
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time / Exempt
REPORTS TO: JSJ Vice President Finance
Position Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst will be based at JSJ Corporation headquarters in Grand Haven, MI. He/she will support the growth of JSJ and its businesses by gathering and providing analysis of market trends, business needs, sales projections and financial metrics to aid in decision-making and global business development. Duties may include certain ongoing monthly finance responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist JSJ portfolio management by monitoring key metrics of JSJ and its businesses consistent with JSJ guidelines.
  • In conjunction with JSJ Businesses and Corporate finance, assist in the development of five-year operating plans and valuation models. Expected to have input on assumptions and strategic value.
  • Provide valuable analysis and financial modeling related to potential M&A transactions.
  • Perform market research analysis to support Corporate or JSJ Business strategic initiatives.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to Corporate or JSJ businesses as necessary.
  • Job is highly dependent upon an advance understanding of Excel® and its advanced techniques. Must enjoy and be willing to learn and develop advanced Excel® Skills as well as various other data management concepts. Must be very comfortable with other Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint®. Should enjoy and have a passion for learning new software.
  • Support an environment of innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing analytical skills to bring structure to otherwise formless data.
  • Supports JSJ Corporate Finance function and other duties and necessary in support of corporate objectives.
  • Researches macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions to provide business sector/industry analysis and recommendations.
  • Business model analysis.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a strong knowledge of GAAP and finance related concepts, computer skills, and problem solving/analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, Business acumen, presentation Skills and collaboration, as well as decision-making, initiative, technical/professional knowledge, task completion, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and resilience.
The ideal candidate will understand JSJ values and both long-and short-term corporate objectives while understanding how this position's role relates to the above. Candidate is responsible for the impact of individual actions on JSJ's business systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Minimum Required Formal Education:
  • BS in Finance or Accounting.
  • 5 years of experience in business analysis role, CPA a benefit.
