Stacey David Hammers Home the Dake Brand
It takes a gearhead to know a gearhead. And the host of Stacey David’s GearZ, appreciates that the team at Dake knows a thing or two about how things work under the hood.
We've enjoyed a great relationship with Stacey, a talented builder of custom cars, trucks and motorcycles. He likes and frequently uses Dake products on his TV show – including the new Dake Power Hammer, which he used to show his TV viewers how to bend and shape metal. (Watch the video clip here.)

How did we start working together? In 2003, Dake's John Stong and Dennis Rice met with Stacey, then host of Spike TV's Trucks! program, to introduce him to the latest Dake products. But it was when they popped the hood on a friend's truck and made a quick fix to the spark plug that impressed Stacey the most. That's when the real business meeting began. And it's been a great ride for us both ever since.
When Stacey left Trucks! to set up his own production company, Dake supplied products for the new set. In 2007, he began hosting ESPN2's GearZ program. Dake then signed a sponsorship contract naming Stacey our celebrity spokesperson. His popularity is such a powerful promotional tool that the YouTube video showing the TV segment on Dake’s press in 2007 has pulled more nearly 9,000 viewers.
"Stacey continues to be a stellar performer in driving traffic to our website," says Frank Kennedy, director of marketing for Dake. "After the search engines, Google, Yahoo, and MSN, he's number one. He often exceeds MSN in referrals to the Dake site." Stacey is also a popular VIP at Dake's product displays at national trade shows like NSRA (National Street Rod Association), SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association), and PRI (Performance Racing Industry).
Stacey and his wife, Kathryn, even visited Grand Haven, Michigan, for Dake's 120th Anniversary celebration. An accomplished musician, he graciously joined Dake sales representative Scott Rice and his band to play a few songs during the festivities.
When it comes to tools, Stacey David and the team at Dake are definitely tuned to the same custom-build channel.
