One of the most remarkable things about JSJ’s izzy+ business is that people feel almost immediately at home in our furniture and seating.
Here’s an example. When we launched our business in 2001 at NeoCon, the world’s largest office furniture trade show, something amazing happened.
Designers, architects and procurement directors who are responsible for recommending or buying tables and chairs assumed that our temporary display space in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart was a trade show café.
So they bought lunch at a kiosk 25 feet away. They walked over to our space. And they sat down in our brand new products to talk, eat lunch and recharge. It was fantastic!
The same thing happened in 2015 with our new award-winning Sylvi lounge collection designed by Joey Ruiter. People who are used to touching down in lobbies, lounges and in-between spaces were quite comfortable kicking back to check email, send texts and have a conversation between appointments.
It was awesome.
Why do people feel so at home with our brand?
A lot of it has to do with our down-to-earth attitude and our fun approach to business. But most of it has to do with our focus on people. Our business and our products are named after people – including our founder’s grandchildren. And our goal is to offer furniture and seating that inspire people in their work and their studies.
