Award-winning Dewey can put an iPod on your teacher's "Helpdesk"

Two years of listening and learning put the Dewey furniture collection on a fast track to graduate in 2009 with honors - earning a Best of NeoCon Gold Award for education solutions.

At the NeoCon World's Trade Fair, Dewey by Fixtures Furniture made an A+ impression with its clean, smart design and intelligent features for today's corporate training centers and university classrooms. "Dewey is influenced by today's mobile, wireless technology. It's also based around the Socratic nature of learning," says Chuck Saylor, founder and CEO of izzy+. "The time is right for Dewey."

Designed by Joey Ruiter of JRuiter Studio, Dewey is a complete collection of ready-to-roll tables with channels to route power and data, mobile storage for wireless technology and freestanding bookcases.

During Dewey's development, instructors from leading universities and community colleges helped evaluate its design and functionality. Their feedback inspired many features, including the Dewey Helpdesk, an iPod-ready teacher's station.

Finally, NeoCon 2009 marked the introduction of izzy+. What is the strategic message behind the new "+" that is now part of the izzy name? For our customers, sales teams and employees, it means that six product brands that merged in 2008 - ABCO Office Furniture, Fixtures Furniture, HÅG, Harter, izzy and Zoom Seating - are now working Better Together.
