Hudson Technologies creates a culture for success

Volusia County is a bustling business corridor in East Central Florida – located between Orlando, the Kennedy Space Center and Jacksonville. Within this region, you’ll find Hudson Technologies. This important JSJ business supplies deep-drawn metal cases worldwide to enclose precision technology used in aviation, aerospace, electrical, medical, semi-conductor, battery and other industrial applications.

In recognition for its business success, the Volusia Manufacturers Association (VMA) recently honored Hudson Technologies as the area’s top manufacturing company with its prestigious Manufacturer of the Year award.

But the tribute goes deeper than applauding financial goals. Hudson Technologies was commended for setting high standards across its operation. “Their leadership, ethics and market focus are outstanding,” said VMA Award Chair Perry Sperber, president of Precision Engineered Systems. “Most of all, they truly care about their employees. They empower them, educate them and support them 100 percent. Their team environment is above and beyond the best we’ve seen.”

One of Hudson Technologies’ notable achievements was eliminating trichloroethylene (TCE), a hazardous solvent-based cleaner, from its manufacturing process. This goal took two years and more than $2 million to accomplish.

“Personal accountability to a set of measurable goals keeps us focused on our key thrusts and initiatives,” says Hudson Technologies President Mark Andrews, who accepted the award on behalf of nearly 200 employees.

“Our strategic plan is the screen we use to prioritize our resources. It says as much about what we aren’t going to do as it does about what we are going to do.”
