Growing in an International Market

From delicate baked goods to bricks and lumber, Sparks customized conveyor belting and motorized pulleys can handle it all, helping customers make or move products around the world.

Sparks, an internationally recognized conveyor belt manufacturer, fabricator and distributor, expanded its North American operations to serve the Mexican market 15 years ago, starting with just two employees. Today, Sparks de Mexico has 14 employees based in Monterrey, Mexico, providing sales, production, and 24/7 service

Jesus Candanedo, General Manager at Sparks de Mexico, says it takes much more than being able to sell a product to be successful in an international market like Mexico.

“Different countries and even different regions within that country have unique needs. The market is shaped by culture, local industries, common practices and even competitors.  To be successful we have to understand and anticipate those needs and then be able to adapt and react appropriately,” says Candanedo.

Sparks de Mexico has an experienced staff skilled in inventory procurement, fabrication, production, installation and rapid response service with plans for growth. Industries served include steel (stamping, coils), food (bakeries, meat: poultry, beef), ceramic, confectionary, check-out stands and more.

“The international nature of our business has been an interesting experience to observe and be a part of,” says Candanedo who has been with Sparks de Mexico for 12 years. “We have successfully meshed different cultures and customs.  Critical to this is the understanding that as long as we all accept, follow and promote our company’s core values, policies and procedures there’s room for unique style and personality in the way we service our customers in the market.”
