Community Spirit in Ottawa County

They arrived armed with rakes and shovels, paint brushes and ladders, buckets and mops. They left filled with a greater sense of community spirit and the knowledge that people truly do “LIVE UNITED” in Ottawa County, Michigan.
Teams from JSJ, GHSP and Dake joined a veritable army of over 780 volunteers during the Greater Ottawa County 11th Annual United Way Day of Caring on September 15, 2011.
Together these employees contributed over 280 hours to the full day, county-wide event. The team from JSJ worked at the Tri-Cities Family YMCA landscaping and cleaning. The Dake team dug right in with landscaping activities at White Plains Middle School while the team from
GHSP was painting rooms at the Salvation Army.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of a strong community,” says Patrick Morgan, President of the Greater Ottawa County United Way. “As you look around the Grand Haven Area it is full of programs, facilities and activities that were entirely created and implemented by local volunteers. The employees at the JSJ family of companies have been a vital part of so many of these things that we quite literally would not be the same without them.”
