Commitment To Education

In a Grand Haven, Michigan classroom, giggling preschoolers learn about the alphabet.  Across town, seventh graders get help with math homework after school.  In a school meeting room in Shanghai, China, five local high school students receive scholarship awards along with “Wish Cards” signed by every GHSP employee.

JSJ employees, and the communities they work in, are diverse but the values that inspire them are the same the world over.

With over 2000 employees in 27 different locations, 95% of JSJ Corporation’s workforce is based in the United States with the remaining 5% located in China, Japan and Mexico. As a corporation and through its businesses, JSJ supports education as way to make a positive contribution to the communities in which it operates.

Locally, JSJ, and its charitable arm, the JSJ Foundation, helps insure that children receive the educational opportunities they need to succeed through both financial and leadership support of such organizations as the Grand Haven Schools Foundation  and the Spring Lake Schools Foundation.   JSJ also awards scholarships to Ottawa County students - over 100 since 1999 - through the Michigan Colleges Foundation (MCF).  In 2011, JSJ plans to give a $1000 scholarship award to one student at each of the 14 MCF member colleges.

Across the country and around the world, the JSJ businesses - GHSP, izzy+, Dake, mcloone, Sparks and Hudson Technologies - are also making a difference in their communities. Scholarship awards, reading programs, internships, student projects and tours are some of the many ways these companies support education. In addition, tuition reimbursement programs help many of their employees continue their education after joining the workforce.

From beginning to end, JSJ and its family of businesses believe in investing in business, people and communities.  They know the real value of giving back.
