Fireworks sponsorship energizes JSJ employees
When JSJ Corporation announced plans to sponsor the Fireworks Spectacular for the 2008 Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival, there was an explosion of excitement - not just throughout the community, but also among employees who work at JSJ's West Michigan businesses: Dake, GHSP, izzydesign and Sparks.
The sponsorship was a fun announcement to make, says Cindy Domanchuk, senior buyer for izzydesign. It was top secret until the final moments before the public announcement, she says. "I passed out notes as I walked through the plant, asking everyone to meet me in the lunchroom at 8:15 for big news and tasty treats. Everyone was curious, and most gave up their break time to hear the announcement about the fireworks sponsorship and eat a few festive cupcakes."
According to Cindy, the Coast Guard Festival is a huge part of Grand Haven's heritage. "Most people know our community as 'The Coast Guard City,'" she says. "It's hard to separate the city from the festival. The Coast Guard Festival is a great way to honor the men and women of the United States Coast Guard and to celebrate our community. As employees of this company, we are proud of JSJ's community involvement and excited about JSJ's sponsorship of the Coast Guard fireworks."
